In loving memory of George Mervyn Bailey who sadly passed away on 17th September 2018, aged 90 years.
George was born on 15th January 1928 to Frederick George & Lily Bailey in Lady St, Dulverton, Somerset.
He was a keen Artist and an active member of the Exmoor Art Group.
He was self taught and did sculptures,paintings,pen & ink drawings and glass engraving.
He was Professionally Voice trained and appeared in several Variety Shows at Dulverton Town Hall.
He did his National Service serving in the Middle East before his demob.
He was married to Evelyn Cornell my mother. After being divorced he remarried Edna Edwards in 1974.
They were fondly referred to as the Village Sweethearts in Bampton, Devon.
Sadly Edna passed away on 16th August 2013.
George moved to be with his Son and Daughter in Law the following year.
In October 2014 he became a Resident at Stanecroft Care Home where he resided happily until his death.
Dad will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

I didn't know George but I think I have a piece of art work that he either owned or created.
