Jan and Geoff were the first people to welcome us when we moved to Yorkshire over 30 years ago and have remained steadfast and treasured friends ever since. Jan was a very special lady who will be sadly missed by the many who knew her.

We have many memories of Jan. The last time we saw her she insisted that Geoff and she give us a lift home even though it was out of their way-typical of the kindness of them both. After that even while in hospital she sent me a message about Saltburn Folk Festival-she was still taking an interest in other people. She will be missed by everyone on the local folk scene.

Jan was an inspiration to us all in how to bear illness with courage, dignity and hope. She enjoyed life to the full as much as possible. I have happy memories of learning the admin of the festival from ger, we had some fun! And now may perpetual light shine upon her, may she rest in peace. X
