In loving memory of Dave Gemmell who sadly passed away on 20th August 2018 after Spinal Cord Compression, Sepsis and a high grade pressure sore. Dave had fought so bravely his prostate cancer over the years and being the strong positive individual he was, managed to sail through various intrusive and challenging treatments. Unfortunately his health challenges became much more of a battle following his late diagnosis of the Spinal Cord Compression after suffering on for many weeks undiagnosed and in so much pain. Dave was still determined to face what was ahead and really embraced his new medical challenges and still remained cherpy and chatty despite playing his real pain down to others.
Dave was a fun loving man with a big character who was very much loved by family and friends.
Married to the lovely Linda for almost 52 years. Childhood sweethearts with a special bond. These two complimented each other and many a happy year was spent making unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Dave had two children Jackie and David and Son In Law, Mark and Daughter In Law Josie. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Two sisters, Alice and Kathleen who live in Australia. A Brother In Law Allan. Dave's mother Emily is 93 years old. Unfortunately Daves father also named Dave passed away one week previous. Two generations gone.
All Dave wanted was a simple and happy life surrounded by his close and devoted family and his friends. A pint or three, good music, football, especially Celtic and a few laughs along the way.
There will certainly be a void in the family without his presence. But one thing is for sure Dave will never be forgotten and we have so many fond memories to treasure.
A lovely man inside and out. We were all lucky to have had him.
