In loving memory of Carol Ann Hindley who sadly passed away on 14th August 2018. Aged 62 years. Sadly missed by her family and friends.

Carol was full of fun, enjoyed her job as a science technician at Langley Academy where she made enduring friendships with many colleagues and, above all, adored her two daughters, Nicola and Tamsin, and her dear little granddaughter Katie. Carol loved her holidays, Switzerland above all where we went walking in the summer many times, though more recently spending a fair amount of time riding the cable cars. She was not averse either to trips to the Caribbean. Many will know of Carol's fine craft abilities and will have seen her marvellous quilts and knitted blankets (Paul's role here was limited to when some maths were required). That our garden looks so good is more due to her green fingers and love of flowers than the other half's spade work. Carol was so proud of Nicola and Tamsin not only for their educational and professional successes but, mainly, because they are lovely, well balanced women.

Family flowers only. Donations as below. The Phyllis Tuckwell carers and the District Nurses, together with the GP, Ann Hennell, were a great help and support to Carol and the family during her last two weeks which she spent at home and we cannot speak too highly of them

Funeral to take place on Tuesday 28th August, 2018 at Guildford Crematorium at 3.45pm. There will be light refreshments afterwards from 4.30pm at The Inn on the Lake in Godalming (GU7 1RH). All family and friends are welcome. Please let Paul know if you intend to come on to the The Inn on the Lake for refreshments so that we can cater accordingly.

I met Carol 45 years ago in 6th form. She was a most generous and helpful friend from the beginning. I always admired her needlecraft from her uni days, especially as I have 2 left thumbs! She was always so proud of her family and their achievements. She was stoic through her illness, mindful of others before herself even then. I will miss you Carol. Rest in peace.

She put me to shame with her needlecraft skills as I have 2 left thumbs. She was so stoic with her cancer, more concerned about others than herself. I will miss her but this pales into insignificance with how much her dear family will miss her and I send you all my love.

I worked with Carol for about 7 years several years ago and have known her now for nearly 28 years. She was always kind and considerate, such a good friend and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace. Jean xx

We have lost one of the most genuine, loving, smartest and happiest women I know. Carol was always a rock and a guide for me in all aspects of my life. It saddens me knowing that she won't be there in the future whenever I needed advice, when I want to share both good or bad news or even just vent. She always supported me and my career and would never be too busy for me in the Science Prep room regardless of the topic or on FB. I love you Carol and hope you are now at peace. You fought your battle with strength, courage and a smile. Barry and I will never forget you x
