In loving memory of Barbara Jean Hoskins who sadly passed away on 10th August 2018. She will be missed so badly by all.

In July 2017 she was told she had 4-6 months to live due to Kidney Failure and that's what eventually finished her on 10th August 2018 (13 months later).

Barbara Archer was born in Lincoln, at the Bromhead, shortly after her family were moved from Bow in London due to the bombings. We don't know much about her schooling other than she went to an all girls school.

She married Malcolm on 1-Mar-1967 and had Neil, their first son, in August the following year. She supported Malcolm during his short RAF career, moving around the bases in Lincolnshire until he returned to civilian life in the early 70's.

She started her working life as a nurse at St George's Hospital working the night shifts, leaving when the boys went to bed, returning as they woke up, slept as much as possible during the day while Malcolm worked at the Forge (Clayton Dewandre in Lincon). Both of their careers wondered through various roles, owning a motor spares shop in the Forum (North Hykeham) at one point, but both were obviously being aimed at careers in the Coop. They were both involved in the YTS department helping youngsters get a foot onto the long career ladder within the Coop. Some of those trainees kept in touch and some have gone on to do really well in their chosen careers.

They were both really respected but when Malcolm fell ill with MDS (pre-leukemia) Barbara gave up everything to support him. He was President of Lincolnshire Coop at the time and his illness progressed aggressively, unfortunately. Barbara devoted all of her time to him during the 6 months he was in and out of hospital, neglecting herself - not eating or drinking. This self-neglect ended up costing her her own life and when Malc died in April 2016 she struggled to transition.

She had some great neighbours, especially Peter & Linda, to support her. Her son Neil and his wife Cigdem supported her as best they could from where they were in London. There were many special friends of hers too, Martina, Emma, Pat, Claire and her Bingo buddies. Sorry if you're not named here, I can only name those that I remember her talking about.

Barbara has several grandchildren; Joseph, Ela, Abbie, Olivia and Jasmine.

Barbara was the kindest, most caring person you could meet. She was sharp witted, bright and very strong willed, her passion for life was amazing. She was the best Mum that you could ever ask for and will be missed immensely.
