In loving memory of Winifred Howarth who sadly passed away on 24th July 2018 Winnifred or Winnie as she was known was born in 1932 into the Roberts family and lived in Bowler Street LIVerpool with her parents and her sisters and brother. In the late 1950’s she moved to maghull with her then husband Jim and they had 2 boys Mark and Ian. Winnie remained in maghull all her life where she largely single handedly raised her sons. In the late 1970’s Winnie made her first of many trips to Australia to visit her sister Pat who had emigrated to the sunshine coast. Several trips to Australia to visit pat were made then after her son Mark emigrated in 1993 she saw a lot more of the country visiting Sydney Adelaide Tasmania Darwin Perth Broome and a very memorable trip to Cairns where she took a helicopter flight over the barrier reef. Her plans to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef however fell a little short as despite a years worth of swimming lessons at ormskirk baths and with the aid of a life jacket and a pool noodle she refused to let go of the side of the boat. In 2011 she made the journey to visit her son Ian and his family including her 2 grandsons Jack and Sam in Arizona and was there to celebrate Jacks high school graduation. With both her sons living overseas she has had the support of an extended network of family and friends with special thanks going to her nieces Ann and May and family friends Peter and Tracey.
