In loving memory of Barry Ian Shiers who sadly and unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday 4th July 2018, aged 68 years. Although he had been struggling with many health issues for several years his death has been a shock to his family and friends.
Barry was known by many as joint proprietor of Shiers Newsagency and through his many years of work as a carpet fitter. He also made himself known to many by cracking a joke or tormenting anyone who crossed his path!

Barry will be very sadly missed by his loving family.

Funeral will take place at Medway Crematorium on Monday 20 August at 1.30pm. Black dress is optional. Refreshments will be available afterwards at The Smallholders Club, Springvale, Gillingham ME8 OJG. We kindly ask for family flowers only to John Weir Rainham by 11am on the day. Donations if desired for 'Arthritis Research UK' or British Heart Foundation' may be sent

I met Barry over 40 years ago. Eventually he met Jen and we had lots of fun and Barry did lots of crazy things and I can still hear his laugh all these years later. We had a phone friendship and the prankster never disappointed. He always had a joke to hand and he always knew the old jokes were the best. I will miss you Barry. Rest in Peace love Chris xxxx
