PaulMultiple Sclerosis Society
In loving memory of Paul Jordan who sadly passed away on 2nd July 2018 aged 71. He leaves behind Paula, his wife of 45 years and his children Rea and Ashley.
Paul was diagnosed with MS in 1974 but this never stopped him aiming to live his life to the fullest. In the early years he continued to enjoy his passion for cars, racing both on the track at circuits such as Goodwood and Brands Hatch but also as a rally navigator.
Once racing was no longer possible he threw himself into family life providing his children with a fun and lovely childhood.
During his working career at BT and then WS Atkins he worked on many high profile projects, including the channel tunnel communications, the close circuit television network for London underground, the Morecambe bay offshore and onshore communications and M11 link road and constructing the telephone mast at the Millennium dome. During this time he was made a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
On retiring from WS Atkins he devoted his time to the M.S. Society, as a Governor of the South East Coast Ambulance service, as Chairman of Mid Surrey Disability Empowerment Network, as a member of the Surrey Coalition of Disabled People and other causes to improve the lives of disabled people.
Never letting his illness get in the way, he and Paula travelled the world on cruises, including twice round the world, continuing to make the most of life.
Throughout his life his positivity and humour were infectious and in his memory his family would like to raise money for the M.S. Society so that they can continue to carry out research and support families dealing with this disease. The family thank you for any donation you may be able to give.
The details for Paul’s funeral can be found to the right of this page, should you wish to attend the family are asking people to dress with colour in mind rather than black and please note that it is family flowers only.
