Funeral Director
In loving memory of James "Jimmy" Conway who sadly passed away on 22nd June 2018.
Jimmy was known by many. With various names. Jim , Jimmy , James , Jimmy the chain, Dealer Jim but also Dad, Grandad and Jim Jam.
Many knew him as one half of Jim and Michelle. Michelle (the Significant other) has been his partner for 25 years and doted on Jim as he did her in his own particular way.
Their main love is their little dog Buster whom many know either by meeting him personally or seeing his photo's on social media and the like.
Jim loved nothing more than sitting on his bed with his boy Buster and watching TV. Normally whilst having some sort of cuddly toy in his face.
Jim was well loved by people who knew him. He was well known for helping people if they needed it and his morals were old school which was evident in the way people speak about him.
Many are shocked at the news of Jimmy's death even though some of you knew he had not been well and had been in hospital for some time.
He has left a huge impact on many people throughout his life. Whether its funny stories, the way he would help anyone or the neighbours seeing him sat on his crate outside watching the world go by so his passing has come as a huge shock to many people.
Many knew Jim from way back in the car dealer trade where his old school values have always been most evident. Even up until recently those morals were always there and as a result people have been very supportive and kind.
He will leave a huge hole in many lives but Michelle , Buster , his kids and grandchildren more so.
Jim wouldn't want people to be sad though. Those who knew him knew he was a joker. Knew he didn't do formal serious occasions. Which is why his send off will be a celebration of his life.
Jim's funeral will be held at the Oaks Crematorium in Havant on Thursday 19th July at 11:30am. There is no dress code but the only thing we ask is if you can wear something yellow as that was his favourite colour.
His wake will be held at the Hampshire Rose pub - 44 London Rd, Widley, Portsmouth PO7 5AG straight after the funeral. All who knew and loved Jim are welcome to both.
Lets give him a good send off.
If people would prefer to make a donation rather than buy flowers then please donate to Battersea Dogs Home. Jim loved Paul O Grady's for the love of dogs and often told Buster he was going to live at Battersea. So this seems very fitting for him.
