Alan was a great and long term friend to all of our Family and we are so sad at his passing. He was a wonderful man who will be warmly remembered by the many fortunate people that felt the sincerity and constant support that his friendship bestowed upon them.

Rest in Peace Alan.

Veronica Lingham wrote

Martyn Harriss: Alan was a lovely man with a kind heart. His benevolence and thoughts for others will last well into the future. I have personally known Alan and Veronica for most of my life, from the early days in Higham to recent years. I know that he used to visit my Nan (his aunt) on a regular basis to sample her baking and was loved by our whole family. It is clear that Alan was loved by his family and friends and respected by those who knew him. Our thoughts are with Veronica, and his close family as they mourn his loss. Alan and Veronica made the Howard Hall a brilliant success. Alan you are sadly missed. The words “live respected - died regretted” could not be applied better. Rest in Peace Alan
