We have decided to just have flowers from me and Rob and family, if you would like to donate to Dementia UK instead that would be lovely. As you may not know, Dad was recently diagnosed.

I will always be grateful to Dave for his help when Melanie was very poorly. He also volunteered, without hesitation, to pick Matthew and Sarah up from Stanstead Airportat short notice when their travel arrangements were changed. I hadn’t know Dave very long at this point in time, but nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I will always remember him for his kindness. X

Mathew & Sarah Pocknell donated £20 in memory of David

Our first memory of Dave was when he very kindly came to collect us from Stansted Airport after a holiday nightmare. Dave put himself forward, even though he had never met us before. This just shows you what a kind and caring man he was.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Martin Tyler donated £100 in memory of David

Money we could have made from selling dads tools, but donated to Medway Men in Sheds which he was due to join. The lady who collected them said they would be life changing to some members and was quite emotional and overwhelmed she said. So well worth in both cases.

The best Father in law a girl could ask for;

You welcomed me to the family the second I walked through your front door. Nothing was too much trouble, you were always there in a blink of an eye.

You cared for and looked after me for 3 months while i was poorly. This was when you got your Nickname Dave the Slave! I will never forget all of the love and support you gave to me, taking me to appointments and cancelling your plans. (You never complained) Even when my friends and family popped over to visit, they all knew you as the lovely, welcoming Dave the Slave.

Always there in a crisis, be it broken down car, someone driving into the back of me or emergencies at home. You were a fantastic father figure and I’m pleased to say that you’ve passed all of these qualities on to my darling Rob.

Helping with DIY tasks in our first home, helping us settle in and making it our own.

You even helped my brother out when his cruise ship dropped them off and left them in Spain without a way home. Matt has never forgotten this.

You were a loving Grandad and both the kids absolutely adored you. This was made obvious by how excited they got when you knocked at the door.
I promise the memories of you will live on in the kids forever. You are the brightest star in the sky, that they look out for each night.
Luke has talked about you every day since you left us, and we will make sure that we all continue to do so.
Sleep well ‘Dave the Slave’ xxxx
