In loving memory of Clare Christina Rossi who sadly passed away on 8th June 2018

Clare was my wife and mother to Louisa and Michael. She was also Nana to Willow (Now together in heaven).
We will miss her dearly. She made me complete as a man and made me a better human being. She will aleays live in my heart and I will never forget her. Clare was a fun loving person who always had time for friends and family and brought sunshine to an empty room.

Goodbye My Lovely Clare xxx

When I first met Clare I knew she was the one for Peter. He was so happy and throughout the years it was obvious they were soulmates. It is very rare to find in life that one special person. She was like a sister to me and I will miss her terribly

Hello Sally
Now I am calmer at home since I was traveling through Peru, a trip scheduled to celebrate my birthday.
Also I was not in the mood to spend it with many people.
The departure of my dear and remembered friend affected me a lot, she even gave me a small colon attack that had never happened to me, I cried a lot, thinking of her coming to Chile to see me almost as a farewell.
I also thought that it is not good to cry just to pray for your soul and spirit that you are on your way to the celestial kingdom.
So, in Peru, Cuzco, I sent her to do mass for her memory, I will never forget her.
How is Peter and the children ???
And you sisters?
They have met.
Your mass was beautiful?
Tell me
And do not stop writing to me like that, I think I'm close to Clare "clarita"
little kisses

Cannot begin to say how sad I am to hear about Clare. I remember crossing the road from my house to Brenda and Bobby’s house to collect Anne Marie and walk with her to school. There was always mayhem in the morning in the Lynch House with the girls screaming having their hair brushed by mum. Always a happy home and one I was pleased to be part of. Claire was always in the middle of whatever was going on. Beautiful personality and always up for a challenge. Very supportive of mum and dad when they were ill. Really helped our family when my sister was ill. Will always have your memories close. Still cannot believe the news. Be happy Clare.

Clare was my Godmother and I have so many wonderful memories of times spent with her. Feisty, fun and forthright you were our very own pocket rocket and were so protective of those you loved. Generous, strong and with an outrageous sense of humour you lit up our family gatherings and they will never be the same again without you. Your home was the Lynch version of Monica’s apartment and you welcomed everyone, no matter the time of day or if it was planned or unannounced. I can’t imagine family gatherings without you there, without your sparkle. I love you and will remember you always x

Hello Peter, Louisa and Michael - so sad to hear about Clare. All our thoughts and love to you and to all the family. We moved through to the east side of Scotland when we were four wee girls and would come through with mum and dad every now and again - most of my memories are of us all climbing up and down the aluminum ladders up to the loft in the house and laughing and just being happy with life. I loved hearing the Glasgow accent, still love hearing it today. We'll be through tomorrow and will be remembering Clare in our hearts. Love from the four cousins XXXX

What can I say about Clare. She was fun, fiesty, outrageous, tiny, welcoming, friendly, principled, caring, good wife, good sister, good aunt, but most of all she was my best friend. Thank you Clare for all the happy times we had from kids to oldies. I miss you so much.
Adri. X

Lovely Sally
Thanks for the info.
Is it possible that you read this little message?
"My very dear friend, that's what we used to say to each other since we met at age 15, at Holyrood Scholl High School, and with Margaret always with you.
Our way had many stories that we shared remembering them with joy and sadness leaving them forgotten around a glass of Chilean wine when you came to visit and to know my country Chile.
Here our adventures were another story to remember in this way that once again separates us for a while, only to think that at some point we will see and laugh with the joy that characterizes you around a glass of wine or tasty chips, and we will play cards or domino.
I was lucky to meet a wonderful woman.
You will always be in our hearts, that of my children and "dads", as you called my parents.
I love you "Clarita"

My first proper memory of Clare was when she was 15 months old.My Aunt Brenda went into hospital to have Mags and this beautiful, red haired baby with twinkly blue eyes came to stay with us.Straight away I feigned illness and had the whole week off school to laugh and play with her.She was an unbelievable ball of energy.I marvelled at how her wee legs even danced in her sleep all the time.I proudly announced to everyone including my mum and dad!! that Clare was my sister.Over the years we became very close and shared lots of laughs, moans and tears.I often wished too over the years that Clare had been my sister..instead she was a true friend and cousin. We even had our first taste of gin together and..yes..later blamed the salad cream!! I will miss her wee pixie face and tinkly voice.

This is a collection of lovely stories about Clare that will make you smile :-

Peter (Husband)
A funny story I recall was in the early day when I first starting going out with Clare. Louisa was just a little girl 7 or 8yrs old. Clare had asked me if I wanted a coffee, while drinking, she asked if I would I like a biscuit, and of course I replied yes. She had handed me the biscuit with wrapper neatly folded at the bottom of the bar, in the same way you would do for a child, so as not to make a mess. Of course it was force of habit as Louisa was still little back then.

Sarah. (Niece)
I have a wee story of Clare when I use to wax her eyebrows. Me and Pauline stood in the kitchen chatting one day, Clare arrived for her wax and looked puzzled at me when I said “ok let’s make a start”. She then proceeded to take her trousers off. Me and Pauline then looked confused and I say “Clare I’m waxing your eyebrows today” and she went “am I not getting my legs waxed too” God bless her. Thank god it wasn’t a bikini wax! Not one for the Eulogy but still nice to share

Aimee (Niece)
How proud she was of her flat in Old Castle Rd - “check your shoes for doggie doos!” Her battles to find adult shoes in a size 2. And how radiant she looked on her wedding day to Peter. She was just so happy and content it shined from inside out x

Julie (Sister-in-law)
It was not long after Dominic was born, I wasn't feeling well. Think I was up and about pushing the pram too soon. Was on the phone to Clare. Within half an hour she'd arrived at the door. She got me ready and took me to the nurse, she insisted they'd see me. Which they did and got me sorted. A week later she was back to take me to the follow up appointment. She was so caring and I will never forgot how she looked after me, without any fuss. .

Sarah (Niece)
Clare was always so good to me. I remember being heavily pregnant with Georgia at new year, things weren’t good with Stephen and she comforted me the whole night with Peter. There were many times she was mum to me when mine was not here. I remember her telling me when I eventually got the courage to leave him “I know exactly what you’re going through Sarah and I promise you it will get better”. I believed every word she said. She use to love having a little pamper off me and it was a joy to do for her. Clare was my little Mrs Pepper Pot. So much fun, generous to the end, fussy as can be with great taste. I’ll miss our wee nights round the dinning room table-playing the tunes, drinking anything in the cabinet and having a late night boogie in the wee conservatory. Life will never be the same again xxx

Rachel. (Niece)
I always remember when I was younger and my mum and dad were still at uni auntie Clare would take care of me and we always had so much fun I’d refuse to leave when my dad came to pick me up

Pauline (Sister)
I remember when she took me and Brendan to see Star Wars at the Odeon cinema in Union St when we where kids. She was always taking us out to the Cinema and also loved taking her little brother and sister out on day trips. I really loved these times.I don’t think she was particularly impressed when I tried to repay her by pouring her brand new bottle of Chanel no 5 down the toilet .

Brendan (Brother)
Claire took me to see my first film when I was 4. It was Snow White. Weirdly enough I was dressed as a Mexican bandit with a handlebar moustache painted with eyeliner. I also recall I want wearing pants. Ironically enough when I was 19 I took Claire to her first gay disco. Again I was dressed as a Mexican with a handlebar moustache and still no pants. Whats the chances of that happening twice.

Ann Marie (Sister)
Clare went with my friend Carole to see Genesis live at Hampden. In front of them a couple of guys were standing up annoyingly blocking their view. Carole could not believe it when Clare tapped on of the guys on the shoulder and asked him to sit down as he was blocking their view. And what happened next?
What do you think? They sat down!!!!
You mean she didn’t jump on their shoulders?

Louisa (Daughter)
Mums little quirks. Like singing her son words to songs, sugababes round and round she would sing Tim Brown, Tim Brown. The City can’t hold us, she would sing Silicone holder.
Her OCDness, I would purposely give her a knife and fork from different sets and she refused to use them and would swap them. I would lay the salt and pepper on the table on the side and she tried so hard to ignore them but she couldn’t help herself but stand them back up.

Margaret (Sister)
How times have changed ,clare managed to get into the savoy night club at 16 but was asked for ID when buying a bottle of wine in Sainsbury’s when she was over 40. She was so tiny That was always a bone of contention when we went out. She would always get asked for ID and I wouldn’t .

Sally (Sister)
She used take me with her to City Limits and the Savoy,I was 16 at the time and she would say if they ask for ID let me do the talking I know the bouncer.
The laugh is I looked older than Clare and she was 5 years older than me.

Margaret (Sister)
I always wondered why clare got up before anyone else in the house in the morning and then realised she would bring the milk in from the doorstep and take all the cream of the top of the bottles for her weetabix.so clued up even from an early age x
Bob I’ll send u what I have so far as I was going to write the full eulogy. But u can continue, or use bits of it. It starts off quite poetic, I’ll send on tmo x

Margaret (Sister)
Every moment with clare was so special she was with me all my life showing me direction sometimes not to my advantage, she insisted on taking the wrong turn off when we were in St Ives and we ended up walking for miles as a big sister she knew best and wouldn’t listen to me. Eventually we did head back in the right direction .

Margaret (Sister)
In our childhood days there wasn’t technology around ,so we made our own entertainment with board games, games with pen and paper like consequences ,scraps and dressing up dolls.we loved to dance and sing together even spent hours practising a radio play.that is why we are all such a close family .clare loved life and was at her happiest being in the company of her friends and family and we made sure that was the case in her last few hours.life will never be the same without our little sister the smallest of us all with the biggest heart and personality .xxxxxx

Joanne (Friend)
Clare was such a party girl although she was the oldest In our wee group she could party as well if not better than the rest of us. She was such good fun. She had a filthy sense of humour. She was the hostess with the mostest and we enjoyed many a happy evening around her table. She loved to tell a long story lol . A wee funny story was when we were in costas having brunch Clare thought the lindt chocs sitting by the till were free and helped herself to a handful so we could all have one with our coffee! ♡

Martin (Nephew)
I will always remember my aunty Clare as a woman that brought myself and my brother up when my mum and dad were working. I have many fond memories at the Rossi household as a wee boy...particularly honing my climbing skills to steal a wee biscuit when I could. Clare would always remind me of Mikey's christening when I shouted "DONT BURN HIM" as michael was getting baptised. I'll miss you aunty with all my heart. Sleep tight, one day I'll no doubt get told off by you again.

Dan (Nephew)
Clare only disappointed me once, asking me to play Jason Derulo at my mums party still hasn’t been forgiven! The smallest one of the Lynch Mob with the biggest smile, her home subliminally became the new gathering place for all after the passing of Gran & Grandad. The next generation get enjoy Peters garden, music playing, good food and unconditional love just like we did. An unbelievably brave lady from day one!

Clara, you shared so much of our lives; we shared so much of yours. We will never fill the chasm you leave. You were the hub of so many memories. Our children, now intertwined forever. Your love for Peter shone like the Portreavey lighthouse. The love from your family shines bright today and always. I will never forget you or the family you leave behind. And remember - it was the salad cream!

Clare was my big sister and I was very close to her. Growing up Clare introduced me to lots of great first experiences like cinema, restaurants and listening to music on her Panasonic music centre. She had a strong personality and was never one to choose the path of least resistance in order to keep the peace. She did what her heart felt was right. Clare was very caring and always loved company. She arranged many great family celebrations and occassions. Clare always made your friends welcome as well and she loved meeting new people.
I will miss Clare always but I will remember all the great times we shared. God Bless.
