In loving memory of James William Webster who sadly passed away on 8th May 2018 aged 84 years.Born and raised in Lincoln, he lived on Arthur Street with his parents and brother Dennis attending local schools until he joined the Army as a young man. It was while he was in the Army that he met his future wife Beryl Green who lived on Moorland Avenue in Lincoln. They married in Holy Cross church on Skellingthorpe Road on the 16th October 1954 and soon after they moved into their only marital home on Uffington Avenue. It was there that they raised their two children a daughter Sheila and a son Stephen. Jim as he was affectionately known worked as a milk roundsman and a delivery driver for the Lincolnshire Echo before eventually becoming a heavy goods vehicle driver doing both long distance and more local work driving for Sunblest bread mostly during the night, and he continued to do this until his retirement. Shortly after retiring suddenly and tragically he lost his beloved Beryl who had been his wife of 46 years and life would never be the same again. At this point they were grandparents to 3 grandchildren and had there first great grandaughter. James went on to have 6 further great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. If Jim had any spare time and he was always the kind of man who was always making or repairing or restoring something then he used to love going to Antique fairs or Car Boot sales. He had a vast knowledge of Antiques and collected everything from furniture, ornaments clocks and watches to pewter and his most recent collection was old Lincoln bottles and Flagons which he built to be one of the most comprehensive and large collections in the City. Jim was particularly fond of Cats and owned a few who found him and a loving home and moved in!,this is why we have chosen Lincoln Cat care as his charity. Most importantly Jim was always there when you needed him a true family man who cared about everyone of his family.
