Thank you Tim for the time you took to share your advice with me about painting. It has all proved to be invaluable. We miss your beautiful art! RIP.
Tim Skett (Passed away 30 Apr 2018)
Art is Emotional - In loving memory of Tim Skett who sadly passed away on 30th April 2018
Tim had a passion for painting and drawing cars and all things fast since he was five years old. He studied graphic design and illustration at Swindon College of Art in the 70s, becoming a Member of the Society of Industrial Artists & Designers. Then followed a successful 30-year career in the advertising industry as a designer, illustrator, art director and award winning creative director.
Tim ran his own design studio and his clients included many large corporate companies that were active in the motor sports business including: Castrol, Intel and Vodafone. After selling his business several years ago he decided to pick up his paint brushes again and go back to what he loved doing best – painting fast cars and boats. He was painting up until his end, which brings a smile to us all. And in the words of Van Gogh "The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting."
Tim lived life to the full and was a man full of heart, often described as a "real gent". His infectious energy lit up every room he entered. Tim was generous, kind, spirited, creative and I think we all can agree - A real chatterbox!
Tim was taken from us too suddenly. He was a cherished son to Barbara, a much loved Dad to Ben, a loving brother of Rick and Paul, a former loving companion of Jo, a devoted partner of Pip and a dear friend to Billy. Tim will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends.
Tim's funeral service to take place at Kingsdown Crematorium 12.45pm on Wednesday 23rd May. Family flowers only. Donations in the memory of Tim would be greatly appreciated by 'Mind - The Mental Health Charity' and the Skett family, as it is a charity very close to our hearts.
