Diane Isaacs donated £22 in memory of Susi

I met Susi in 2000 after the conference on the Kindertransport. My aunt married a Bechhoefer so there was a connection beyond my study of the Holocaust. We visited each other for the next seventeen years. I thank Susi and her husband Alan for their friendship and will miss them,

My darling “little lady” I cannot imagine my life without having had the pleasure of you in it. As we both said, it was only me who knew the TRUE YOU!!! How we laughed, how we cried, how we love. I will never speak of what we did, as you carried my secrets to your grave, so shall I do the same with yours. I love you and miss you so much!! Xxxxxxx

  • Have only just found out of Dear Suzie’s passing,I lit a candle in memory of Suzie wondering what had happened to her as had lost touch. Suzie andI were at boarding school together and shared a lot, we were both in the exam room ready to sit the exam when the incident of her identity came out, I shall never forget it. Suzie is a friend Iwill always hold dear, Thank you Lord she is now with you. Fredrick, though we never met I will continue to pray for you.

It was an honour to know and get to work so closely with Susi. A regular speaker at Beth Shalom, many students listened and learnt from this remarkable woman who had a difficult story to share. Whilst we saw less and less of Susi towards the end, I know that the impact that she made on these student's lives will be immense and we at Beth Shalom will ensure her story lives on.

  • Susi you helped me through my most difficult and darkest times. You also helped my dear late husband come to terms with his terminal illness. You were our rock and you continued to be my rock once Jim died. Rest in peace dear Susi X
