In loving memory of Nancy Coney who sadly passed away on 14th April 2018

Nancy was born on 20.03.1930. Daughter of Walter and Edith Nice, she was to be the eldest of 8 siblings. She was soon joined by Geoffrey (deceased), John, Dorothy (deceased), Rosemary (deceased), Joan (deceased), Iris and Walter (deceased).

After leaving school at the age of 13, Nancy worked in service for the Stubbs family. By the time she was 16 she had progressed to the position of cook, in which she remained until the age of 21 and married Ronald Coney.

They moved into their home on Wkyeham Hall farm, where Ron was a farm labourer.

Nancy commenced work for Mr Betts, the butcher in Ludford; working in the bake house as well as training in butchery. She also drove the delivery van around the local country lanes, which was not much enjoyed! This occupation continued, albeit with a few butchers, until retirement.
Her sausage rolls, egg custards, pork pies and cherry scones were legendary!

Sadness occurred during the early days of the marriage when Little Ronnie was delivered prematurely and unfortunately did not survive. Hence the request for donations to the ‘Stillborn and Neonatal Death’ society in Nancy’s memory.

Nancy and Ron were a devoted couple who enjoyed their time together; particularly dancing and weekends away in their caravan.

Now reunited.
