In loving memory of Charles Frederick Shores Age 88 from Washingborough Lincoln, who sadly passed away, after a struggle with cancer, at Lincoln county hospital on Saturday 24th March 2018.
Charles Fredrick Shores was born on the 15th May 1929,at Deeping St.Nicholas,to Fred and Lucy.
He married Mavis (Waltham) on the 4th April 1953.
After his education he worked on the land for a while,then joined the army on general service from 1947 to 1949 in the dental corp,where he was stationed in Egypt, in 1951 he met his wife to be Mavis,and was married for 64 years.
Between 1951 and 1964 they lived in many different places like Donnington,Blankney,Old leake,Potterhanworth and Heighton,moving into Washingborough in 1964,where he worked on the buses for many years,then worked at Morrells factory Bardney then for Lincoln council until he retired.
He liked gardening,walking and stamp collecting, and food,he went to many stamp exhibitions at earls court,helping out on one occasion,which he received a certificate of recognition for.
He enjoyed his holidays especially in Ireland, Scotland ,Norfolk and Skegness,were he would visit the theater which he loved,and he also loved his food.
He always wanted to visit Australia,which sadly he never did.
Charles Fredrick Shores was survived by his loving wife Mavis and their children Valerie,Patrick,Irina,Susan Eric and Carol,and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren,and his sister Linda.
We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
A service will take place at Lincoln Crematoriam Washingborough Road LN4 1EF,
on the 18th April 2018,at 11-10am.
Then at 1200, onto the Ferryboat public house at 4 high street Washingborough LN4 1AZ.
A thank you to the staff at Lincoln county hospital for looking after him through a difficult time.
