In loving memory of Norman Whalley who sadly passed away on 18th February 2018, very unexpectedly, a few weeks after a 2 weeks stay in hospital recovering from an episode which caused him to be confused for a few days before making a recovery.
Norman excelled in sports in his earlier years particularly cricket and golf where he took part in local league matches and company events.
His golf interest took him to courses all over the country. One trip involved him and 3 mates doing a 2 week road trip through Europe where he discovered black forest gateaux, pizza and espresso coffee.

He worked for local company Weller Engineering for more than 10 years as a fully skilled Fabricator/Welder doing work he enjoyed but that affected his health due to the excessive noise which later caused him to suffer from Tinnitus.
after leaving Weller he became a milk delivery roundsman, a job he enjoyed, early start/finish and fresh air being big advantages from his engineering work.
He also worked as a part time life guard in a local swimming pool and trained to be a domestic electrician but never put it to use.
Eventually Tinnitus and back strains caused him to finish work and rely on benefits whilst living at home with his parents Frank and Evelyn where he found a job that turned out to be his most rewarding yet.
Being at home enabled him to connect to the wider family through his parents need to get out and visit due to not being mobile by themselves.
After both parents passed away he lived in the family house from 2008 onwards until he passed away.

Today we said bye to a great uncle, who was the life and sole of Sundays at our Nans. From board games to firing air riffles at balloons, there was never a dull Sunday the after tea he would teach how to grow veg in his veg patch. Hopefully he finds our Nan if there is life after death. RIP Uncle Norman I will miss your Dearly x

RIP Uncle Norman, A great uncle who was the the life of Sunday dinners at my Nans. He had so much time for all the kids that piled around there. Every week we did something different, from shooting air riffles at ballons to teaching us how to grow vegetables. Norman will be sadly missed by myself and family. Life flies by and sometimes we do not realise whats important. Spending time with family is much more valuable than any amount of money or whats on TV. RIP Norman x
