I met Tony Gunter Smith in 1958. I was seven and taken for a treat to Renfrew Airport. It was there the Sabre Jets and CF-100s were serviced. There were five of us sitting in the canteen. He came up to us and asked us if we were spotters. He was dressed in a smooth blue number 2 and a flying jacket with forage cap. He went off. He came back with five paper tubes and inside were coloured pictures of Sabres or CF-100s. In 1959 at Abbotsinch he demonstrated aerobatics in a CF-100 at the Battle of Britain Display. We were so saddened to hear of his passing RIP.
