This woman brought brightness and light to the world
This woman was rarer than a deep-sea pearl
This woman was full of determination and strength
This woman never hesitated to go the extra length
This woman warmed the hearts of all in her path
This woman’s eyes sparkled with every laugh
Like this woman you’ll find no other whether searching high or low
This woman was our B and we will always love her so

We have chosen two charities - Macmillan Cancer Support and Milly's Foundation. We have chosen Macmillan as mum received quite a lot of support from them in her times of need. Milly's is a dementia charity in Alderney ran by Colin Williams. It was with much support and encouragement from Colin and the Milly's Foundation that mum's recent book (Dementia: A Practical Guide for Family Carers) was completed and published - and just in time for her to see it. We feel immensely grateful towards both charities.

Firstly, there will be a donation box available on the day of the funeral for both charities.

On this site you can donate money directly to Macmillan online.

For donations to Milly's Foundation you can either send them directly to Milly's via bank transfer (Bank Code 30-93-73; a/c no. 27415868) or make a cheque out to Milly's Foundation and forward it to me at mum's address (please ask me if you need it) for me to forward to Colin in Alderney. Alternatively you can contact A. W. Lymn in Arnold on tel: 0115 967 6777 who can arrange it or answer queries.

I (Sarah) will be responsible for taking orders for mum's book so feel free to contact me to arrange this. External orders can be sent to dementiaguideforcarers@outlook.com. Later in the year there will be an official website with more information on the book to hopefully reach a wider audience.

Thank you for your kind emails and words of support at this incredibly sad time.

We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it on Monday.

An inspiring colleague and friend. Courageous, creative, kind, generous and thoughtful! Successful in changing attitudes in her profession and beyond, and defining and creating 'best practice' for the benefit of so many people.

Ben, you will be greatly missed. We had such a lot of fun working together and I learned so much from you. You have made so much difference to so many people's lives. I'm delighted you got to see your book published and I guess it is a reminder to us all of the huge contribution you made to improving the lives of people living with dementia and those who support them.
Words cant get anywhere near to expressing what a loss your passing is to those who knew you.
Simon

A lovely friend who has been taken too soon but she will continue to shine brightly from afar.

In memory of a very special Park School Girl who was a lovely friend. Brenda was a modest, caring and thoughtful person who always put others first. So glad we had a chance to meet up again at our reunions after so many years. As a bright, colourful star she will shine forever!! Jacqui [nee Halsall]
