This is from both Graham & Maggie Gairn. Colin will always be remembered as someone who would always go out of his way to help. We both enjoyed his enthusiasm for South Africa and it was his encouragement that meant that we would be sharing a birthday with him in Port Elizabeth. May you now rest in peace Colin.

COLIN DAVID TURNER A DEVOTED HUSBAND TO BELOVED WIFE JEAN AND THE FATHER OF TWO DAUGHTERS CASSIE AND MELISSA AND STEP-SON DAVID HAS PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 76. COLIN WAS SCHOOLED LOCALLY IN POOLE AND WAS A MEMBER OF LILLIPUT SEA SCOUTS. SAILING WAS HIS FIRST PASSION AND FROM THE AGE OF SEVEN WOULD BE FOUND IN AND AROUND POOLE HARBOUR IN NUMEROUS BOATS WHICH EVENTUALLY LED HIM TO SAILING COMPETITONS ALL AROUND THE WORLD. COLIN WORKED GLOBALLY SPECIALISING AND ADVISING PERSONNEL IN WINCHES AND MASTS AND WHOSE EXPERIENCE LED HIM TO WORK WITH THE AMERICA`S CUP CREW.
WHEN HE MOVED TO RINGWOOD WITH JEAN HE BECAME INTERESTED IN COURSE FISHING WHICH LED TO FLY FISHING. HIS PASSION FOR FLY FISHING WOULD LEAD HIM TO BECOME AN ESTABLISHED ANGLER AND TO JOIN NUMEROUS FISHING ASSOCIATIONS. COLIN WENT ON TO COACH YOUNGSTERS AND BECOME A RESPECTED GUIDE TO MANY INTERESTING PEOPLE WHILST ALLOWING HIM TO FISH ON SOME OF THE MORE EXCLUSIVE RIVERS IN HAMPSHIRE.
COLIN RETIRED AT THE AGE OF 62.
ENJOYING AND PLANNING HOLIDAYS WITH WIFE JEAN WAS ALSO A VERY SPECIAL PART OF HIS LIFE ESPECIALLY THEIR NUMEROUS VISITS TO SOUTH AFRICA AND CLOSER TO HOME IN CORNWALL.
COLIN WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM.
