A lovely lady, who I had the good fortune to meet, RIP June, always remembered x
June Lewis (27 Jun 1935 - 25 Feb 2018)
In loving memory of June Lewis who sadly passed away on 25th February 2018
June Gwendoline Jones was born on the 27th June 1935 at The Elms, Trelleck Cross, Trelleck, in Monmouthshire and was one of four children. Ken her eldest brother, then mum, followed by Raymond and then Rhos. the four siblings enjoyed their childhood growing up in the Forest of Dean - although they did have quite a walk to attend their respective schools in those days - 2 miles there and back each day to be precise!
When mum left Monmouth Secondary School, she worked at a local dentist surgery in Monmouth, Timms & Palmer where she worked until she met and married dear Dad.
Mum & Dad married on the 14th July 1956 when mum was 21 years old (a stipulation made by her father). As Dad was in the Navy at that time, they moved down to Plymouth where they subsequently had Stephen who was born on the 25th November 1958. When Dad left the Navy he joined the Metropolitan Police Force and they then moved to Highbury New Park in London, as dad was stationed in Islington. On the 23rd June 1960 along came Julie who was actually born in the flat where they lived.
Mum & Dad shared 56 years of happily married life together - a feat in itself! Sadly, soon after Dad passed away on the 17th October 2012, mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia and it has been a long hard 5 and a half years watching her decline - but one saving grace is that they are now reunited - together at last with her 'lovely' as she would always call him 💙💝 - God Bless you both xXx
