In loving memory of Joyce Welch who sadly passed away on 9th February 2018. Joyce was the heart of our family: the warp across which the patterns of all our lives were woven. Joyce was a loyal and devoted wife to Richard for more than 67 years; a beloved and devoted mother to Roger and Ian, a caring and loving grandmother to Ellen and Lara, and great-grandmother to Elijah; and a kind, helpful and affectionate mother-in-law to Chris and Sarah. Full of joie de vivre, Joyce had many, many friends, some of them life-long. She is missed by all of us more than words can possibly express.

Love you so much

Richard, Roger, Ian, Ellen, Lara, Elijah, Chris and Sarah xxxxxxx

What beautiful pictures and memories. Having been thinking about the those post boxing day family parties in Kent - the games, the treasure hunt, and the amazing delicious and generous spread that Auntie Joyce would lay out. My Dad Keith has memories from times long before those gatherings and he has asked me to pass on his sympathy and his best wishes. Lots of Love to you all. Melissa xxxx

In loving memory of my dear Auntie Joyce, I have o many memories as a child and later in life of her being such a sociable person. She certainly took over from my Grandmother in keeping the family together, with her parties at Christmas and events which have been very missed over the past few years due to her failing health. I remember her being such a loving person always with a smile and quick wit.
Keith and I will so miss her, we will always hold her with love in our hearts. My mum Daphne will miss her sister-in law so much.
We wish Richard and the family all the best. see you all soon.

With love from Siobhan, Keith & Daphne

Sending our love and prayers to you all and remembering so very fondly our dear friend Joyce. We met in St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth in January 1952. A few weeks later there was a knock on our door and there stood Joyce, with Roger, having asked for our address at the hospital. No data protection in those days which was a blessing or we would have missed out on a special friendship that has endured across the miles and down the years. We shall miss her very much. All our love Mary and Jim xxx

I am very sad to hear of the passing of Joyce. I have very happy memories of her growing up as a child. I remember her as a vibrant, sociable and energetic person who was the life and soul at parties and important occasions such as Christmas and Birthdays. She was a valued and loved wife, mother and grandmother, and I am very proud to have known Joyce as a wonderful, caring individual and if course my aunt for so many years. Love to all her family 💝

  • I was there and remember this photo of their wedding very well. Joyce and I have been friends for 70 years when I started at the Gas Co. (as it was known in those days). Joyce was so proud of her family and loyal to her many friends. It is a sad time for her family but the many, many happy memories will give them great comfort in years to come. There are so many happy occasions that will stay with me and it is difficult to think of her no longer being in my life. God Bless you Joyce and all your family. Val. xx
