Long time ago, 1959, we were friends in the RAF as officer cadets at South Cerney. I was a bit younger than Ron and he was a man of the world having been in the merchant navy. He helped me grow up. We enjoyed several good meals at the Black Tulip in Cheltenham. Wish I had kept in touch - my memory is of a decent human being.
