Desmond, our hearts go out to your family and all the people who feel the profound loss of your passing. You have been a warm, kind spirit, a true friend for thirty years. You shared your wisdom willingly and generously gave from your heart. You always had a sparkle in your eye, a spring in your step and an amazing sense of humor. Your love of life and sense of adventure was infectious. A patriot who served Her Majesty's Colonial Service for Special Branch in Singapore until independence was granted and then went on to serve in the Royal Air Force including at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Paris. After you retired I know you loved your many consulting postings and still had the spirit to author and publish a book. You were a true British gentleman, an inspiration for the generations to come.
Above all, you loved every one of your boys, their families, and adored spending time with them and your grandchildren. What a beautiful McConnell legacy lives on.
All of our lives have been enriched because you were part of them. You are loved and missed more than words can say. May peace be with those whose lives you touched, we are the most fortunate to have known you. May your family and friends be comforted knowing you have found home again in Myra’s arms. You will both always be remembered.
Lots of love,
Teri, Lenny, Marjorie, Jeff, Shauna, Kenny, and Baby Bro
