In loving memory of Barbara Head who sadly passed away on 3rd February 2018. Our lovely Mum, Nan, GreatNan and beloved wife of the late Ken Head. Barbara was born in The Plough Inn at Woolpit, to Aaron and Amelia Smith, the last of six children, Majorie, Enid, Joan, Alan and Sydney. After moving to Kesgrave as a child she met the love of her life Ken when she was just 16. They married when she was 18 and her only son Michael was born two years later. Barbara lived all her married life at her bungalow in Bracken Ave, she loved her garden and sitting in the conservatory enjoying the sunshine.
Barbara worked as a florist and made many good friends when she worked at Robertson's on St Helen's St in Ipswich. A very active lady, she enjoyed watching and playing sport, tennis especially and in later years carpet bowls. She loved to dance and when Ken was alive they were often out to a dance on a Saturday night, making more good friends. Always a very positive and generous lady she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The funeral will be held for family and close friends at Southgate & Roberts, St Matthews St, Ipswich at 11:00 am on Monday 5th March 2018 and then at The Black Tiles, Martlesham commencing 12:30pm.
NO flowers please but donations to the St Elixabeth Hospice will be most welcome.
