Here's to my nannie, our nannie & barb as you all knew her, she was a beautiful lady from Bournemouth, she was a lively lady who always took pride in her appearance & took great pride in her own teeth, I remember when I was young & after my ballet lessons mum & I would always visit nannie, I would sit in front of her fire on her thick warm rug with tassels on edge & empty her penny bottle which was a old cider or whisky bottle & count all the pennies & nannie & mum would sit in the dining room & drink tea & eat biscuits, we would arrive just after her favourite soap had finished which was emmerdale. My mum also remembers how nannie always enjoyed our birthday parties & would enjoy all the cakes & sweets, even though she was going to be weighed at her fat club as she'd call it. Nannie would visit us ever Thursday armed with sweets & cakes, I remember the small smartie boxes, nannie was the sweet fairy in our house, she bought them so often, mum made us our own sweet sheet shop which never ran out. Another memorey for my mum & our family is Christmas & nannie would spend them with us & our grandad, mums dad, & sometimes we would go to nannies for Xmas, nannie was always happy & smiling & loved celebrations especially the cake & fresh cream puddings. They were nannies let down if you haven't guessed. It is so sad she has gone now but as we say heaven has gained a beautiful angel & we are here to say goodbye to one. She was a fantastic mum, nannie, great nannie & great great nannie, so tonight there is an extra bright star in the dark night sky & we can all look up blow a kiss & say we will all be together again soon, we miss you nannie so much & always will, so fly free & Happy nannie & goodbye nanny, your are my angel, from us all with all our love & kisses. Xxxx

Feel no guilt in laughter

Feel no guilt in laughter, she knew how much you cared
Feel no sorrow in a smile that she is not there to share
You can not grieve forever she would not want you to, she'd hope you'd carry on the way you always do
So talk about the good times & the way you showed you cared
The days you spent together all the happiness you shared
Let memories surround you & a word someone may say will recapture a time an hour or a day, that brings her back as clearly as though she was still here
For if you keep those moments safe you will never be apart & she will live forever locked safely in your heart.
