In loving memory of Raymond Howe who sadly passed away on 30th January 2018.
Dad passed away after a short illness , cancer related, and was looked after by doctors and nurses at Danetre Hospital , Daventry. We cannot praise ALL the staff there for their care and attention in the last month of his life and for making the last moments of his life as pain free and dignified as possible.

It is time , as Dad asked me to do , to turn the page and start a new chapter.

Dad loved nature, and next to nature, he loved art.....i think the books he wrote and collected , reflect this.

A childhood memory... We didn`t have a lot of money but Mum and Dad always found some for a holiday to the North Norfolk coast (usually Hunstanton) in one of many Three Wheelers they owned. We always set off at Sparrow Fart o`clock and my Sister Sam and I were placed in the car and then Mum and Dad packed our things around us. We really needed a Transit Van not a Reliant Robin ! ! As we grew in size one year Sam was given a difficult choice to make in that she could either take her Teddy Bear or her Brother ! ! Thankfully she chose me but it was close ! ! Then after many checks and double/triple checks of the house, doors/windows/toilet/unplug TV aerial (just in case there was a thunder Storm)/big lights/small lights/lights in the "other" room/fridge/cat (even though we never had one) we would set off. The Reliant was rolled down the drive in silence like the scene in The Sound of Music film so the neighbours weren`t woken up - we would have helped push but we couldn`t move at this point, then Mum and Dad got in with the dog shaking and about to throw up, the engine was started and off we went to our Seaside caravan...Oh happy Days...

I love Raymond like a father .... a wonderful, gentile man who put his family at the centre of all he done. A side splitting sense of humour and kinda partial to a little drop of sherry, and books ... don't start on the book please .... esp if he was buying a certain one from the car boot .... every time I see a boot sale advert,Raymond leaps straight to the front of my mind and always make me smile, always will !! I send the Howe family every ounce of love and support I can at this very sad time, and always will, but he is now at rest and with his beloved dogs ... just hope he's not taken a brush with him for sparky !!!!! Love always mark xxxx

  • Thanks Mark. What about the 50p book at the car boot that Dad went home to check on its value before parting with his 50p..... And the day you went with him to the antiques road show. You were in the queue and an elderly lady was taken to the hall.....you piped up saying she was being taken in for a valuation...made Dad chuckle for many years afterwards...
