In loving memory of Doreen Newton who sadly passed away on 7th January 2018.In loving memory of Mrs. Doreen Newton (née Southwell), of Boston, Lincolnshire, who passed away on 7th January 2018 at the age of 87.

Doreen was born to parents Daisy and Percy Southwell on April 27, 1930 in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. and was the youngest of four children. In 1953, she married Ralph Newton and they made their home at Hilldyke, near Boston.

Doreen and Ralph had 3 children: Colin, Michael and Elizabeth who were all brought up on the Farm at Hilldyke. It was a working farm and everyone helped out on the farm so it was a busy life until they moved to Fishtoft in the late 1980’s.

Doreen enjoyed her dancing and playing cards with friends but in later years spent her time gardening, feeding the birds and enjoying time with her family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The cremation will take place on Monday February 12 at 2:00 p.m., and friends and family are invited to attend the wake at the Mermaid Inn, Gosberton Road, Surfleet shortly thereafter. Doreen has requested that people wear bright colours as opposed to the traditional black.

The family is grateful for the condolences, but would rather receive donations towards their chosen charities rather than flowers.
