In loving memory of Amanda Deane who sadly passed away on 30th December 2017.

Amanda was the loving daughter of Morag and Leslie, sister of Bruce and mother of Charlie and Holly. She was also very loved by her larger family, step-family and in-laws.

Amanda was born in Zimbabwe, a country she has always loved so much. Spent her teenage years in South Africa and her adult life in the UK.

She was very involved in her work and was an active member of the St Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish Church. Amanda will be sorely missed by loving friends all over the world, from school friends in South Africa to work and parish friends in the UK, and many others in-between.

Please share your thoughts, happy or sad, and photographs here. Let's celebrate Amanda's life.

If you would like to make a donation rather than send flowers please do so to St Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish Church in Bromley by sending a cheque made payable to ‘St Joseph’s Parish’ to St. Joseph’s, 1 Orchard Road, Bromley BR1 2PR or the RSPCA through the Just Giving link on this page.

i miss you mum, thank you for being my best friend and it hurts so much knowing how you will never see me grow up or how ill never see you grow old; you would have been 52 in a bit.oh how i wish you were still here and i dont know what to do without you with me. i hope your afterlife is peaceful and fufilled and i will always, always be your little girl. i love you so much i would do anything to be back with you, sitting on the sofa on a sunday night with tea and biscuits or salt on cucumber watching strictly come dancing or the british bake off.i feel like im falling apart without your and i so badly miss your smile, your laugh, how i could tell you everything, how we hated the same people, how we were just in sync; how we went everywhere together. please come back mum xx

  • Aww Holly 🤗 I cannot imagine how much you miss your Mum 💔 I know how much she loved you & Charlie. You two were her absolute pride & joy. Her all and everything ❤️ Although she is not here in body, she is and always will be with you. You'll feel her in a quick little breeze, smell her sweet fragrance, wafting past, see her presence in little things she liked 💐 Talk to your Mum, I know that I still do and I know that she hears, because she'll send me a sign... A butterfly, a feather or even a sound, like a song getting stuck in my head, that reminds me of her🦋 I often think of your Mum and I miss her so much 💔 Your Mum would want you to be strong my girl, don't give up on you, make Mum the proudest Angel up there in Heaven 🧚 Sending you much love, all the way from South Africa ❤️🤗❤️ Remember that your Mum is an Angel watching over you 😇

Dear Morag, Bruce, Tania and family, my sincere condolences go out to you all at this sad time.
May Amanda’s beautiful smile live on through Holly and Charlie, they are a credit to her and she was so proud of them.
Now dancing with the angels, looking down on us all. Rest in peace dear friend. XXX

There are so many words I can use for our beloved Amanda: Loving, kind, warm, strong, loyal, humble, beautiful, and funny are just a few.

If I could channel even a small amount of everything she gave to the world, it would make me a better person. Our beautiful friend Amanda was the definition of an amazing person in every way. Her smile, voice, hugs and inappropriate humour will stay in my heart and mind forever. In her memory I hope I can live my life as positivity, and lovingly and kindly as she did, despite all the challenges she had. This is the strength I take from this sadness: Amanda’s presence and positive influence is so vivid. I am absolutely lucky to have had her in my life and shared memories and heard so many stories of her amazing life, from Africa to London. I hope her wonderful family can find strength in how many people she touched and loved her so dearly.

Amanda, a colleague who became a dear friend. The Amanda I knew coped so well through many of life’s difficulties. Amanda dedicated her life to her children who were so precious to her An infectious smile, sometimes naughty, sometimes sad, but always kind and generous of spirit and just great fun to be with. I shall always treasure the times we spent together, the admiration that I felt for her when she managed to travel by train to see us in Cheshire, crossing London with Holly in a buggy and holding tight to Charlie’s hand. The short holidays we enjoyed in Yorkshire and North Wales together. She was a delight to be around and she knew that she was always welcome to spend time with us. She talked all the time, with so much love, of her mother Morag in Botswana, her father Leslie in South Africa and her brother Bruce in Brazil. Impossible to imagine the pain that they must be going through having a beautiful daughter and sister taken from them at such a young age. Charlie and Holly, we hope that you can find comfort in all the beautiful memories that you have of your lovely mum and that the love of family and friends will help you in the days to come.
