Marie I'm so glad I got to spend time with you when I was home and I will forever cherish our last conversation on messenger which I've read over and over, a few times I've cried and a few times I've laughed at what we spoke about cause that's what you made people do laugh even at the hardest of times. An incredible lady who was straight talking and with a straight to the point attitude is what I loved about you, oh and you weren't bad at netball either. Sleep tight Marie xx. Heartfelt condolences to Kevin and kids xx

To a fantastically funny and incredible woman. You were a one off and I will always remember you for your unique approach to life, kindness, humour and spirit. Your impression of a certain ex colleague line dancing in cycling shorts will always make me smile. I’ve even started watching Dexter (at long last) in your honour after your recommendation 10 years ago. You will be missed so much. Sending lots of love to your family. They must be so proud of you xxxxxxx

Have been reading through the messages from marie,s family and friends. So touched by the love, care and warmth in those messages. Feel so much compassion for Marie's family for their loss. Can see so much of marie and her personality and character in all her family and her amazing resilience and strength. Was so moving attending her funeral and how many people's lives she has influenced for the better. Sometimes doing the job we do brings lots of challenges but can honestly say on a personal level that Marie,s courage and determination in her work has given me the courage to not be as fearful of certain difficult situations and to reflect on how she handled things with humour and took things in her stride. I'm trying to take a leaf out of marie,s book. Thank you so much marie for being a lovely and inspiring woman. Sending my thoughts and love to your family and friends xxx

Marie,

Thank you for all your love and support. You and Kev have always been there for us. Me Rachel and Phil appreciated and needed your love and strength. Regrettably more than you may have ever known. So happy that we managed to get back in touch after too long apart.

You were a tough and funny lady. Ferociously protective of not just your own kids, but all of your family and friends. All of us cousins were very lucky to have you. You have left a big void that will be difficult to fill.

I remember that busy living room in Leeside in the early 90's, filled with smoke! People coming in and out, playing Nintendo with you and Nan. I have lovely memories of all the parties you had for us as well, and used to love coming there after school.

The idea of you not being there anymore is increasingly difficult for me to grasp.

I admired and still admire you immensely. I will miss you terribly.

I love you Marie.

Auntie Marie,
I don't think there are enough words to even begin to explain how much you meant to me. You always seemed to be there for me, no matter how far apart we were. Always messaging me making sure I was okay, even though you were the one who was ill, you were so strong.
I am so grateful to have had you in my life, you were the normal(ish) one of a crazy lot and I looked up to you and I will continue to do so. I will cherish every moment I spent with you, thank you for being such an amazing auntie I love you so much. R.I.P angel until we meet again xxx

Marie, what a force of nature. There are few people that leave an impression like you. Honest, so much fun and such a wonderful person.

Kevin and all the family have Marie running through to their core and it’s there they can take comfort for her never leaving them.

Rest in peace and watch over us all.

Love you x

At 2.30 on friday the 5th of jan, St Helens Crematorium was filled to the rafters. Which proved just how much respect and love people had for my sister- Marie Donegan. Who spent a lifetime helping others. She tirelessly strived to improve the quality of the lives of anyone and everyone who needed help. She was a one-off wbo will be sorely missed by all.Kev was always a good, decent, caring partner.Roxanne, Dominic, and Shannon will all support their dad, and each other. They have lots of friends ready to give support. When they find it tough going, they will toughen, because they will borrow their mums' steel and grit.I wish them all every happiness for the future.I only have happy memories of my little sister who i'll meet again one day ., Marie Donegan.Love you loads.
