You will always be Uncle Arnold to us!

We remember your love of all sport but especially football and horse racing and we can still see you with the daily paper trying to pick a winner, chuckling as Aunty Sheila was saying - he never wins anything!

Dear Paul And Family
I am very sorry to be told of Arnolds death, he is a great man who I and many more referees owe a great deal to. There are somethings that I would like to say about Arnold we served on the Cup competitions with his pal Sid Sharp, Sid always said to Arnold he did not like the Lockheed R A Mafia and Arnold being the Lockheed mafia Don Capa things were decided before they get to the R A meetings. Every Referee at Lockheed always went to the Toolroom to see Arnold For Advice and fatherly figure that was always there for them. Paul do you remember we were at Tamworth, I asked Arnold if he would like to come he jumped at the chance, but said don`t tell Paul , I want to surprise him, Do you remember your face when he walked in to the dressing room, He was very proud of you and Pete (sorry did not know about his Death till I was told of Arnolds ) . All the way to Tamworth and all about you and Pete growing up and your jobs very proud man he was.
Paul in Arnolds house is a big shield I had it done for Arnold Called The Arnold Rouse Trophy , If you find it I would like the R A to do something with it in memory of Arnold.
Paul am sorry that I am on a Cruise and sail on the 9th of January so Gillian and I am not able to attend .
Arnold I owe a great dept to Arnold changed my life , though him I met and went to some nice people and places that I would not have if I had not met Arnold
Deepest Sympathy
