In loving memory of Geoffrey Horne who sadly passed away on 3rd December 2017.
The day we had been dreading came at 6.55am on Sunday the 3rd of December 2017.at Leicester Royal Hospital. My beloved father lost his fight against COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ) he went peacefully with most of his family around him but with all his family in his heart. My Dad was was not just a dad he was a hero in many people's eye's he fought for his country and worked with the army cadets.
He was one of 7 children to Ann and Harry Horne he was married to my beloved mother Marion Horne until she passed away 11th September 1999. He had 3 children Ursula Clive and myself Tracy with Marion. And Grandchildren Daniel. Simon. Matthew And Samuel. Cheryl. Brandon. Reece. Amber and Mitchell (Great grandchildren Alex and Ethan) Harry Jack Charlie and Jordon
He then went on to marry Tracey who he was with until the end became step dad to Laura and Carl ( but they always said he was more like a real dad to them) and that filled him with so much pride Grandchildren Honey-May. Corey. Connor. Cody. Faith. Brody (who called him effus because he could not say Geoff and dad loved that) of course Freddie. He loved all his grandchildren he was so proud when Matthew was born on his birthday.
Christmas was his favourite time of the year my fondest memory of him is he was sitting under the Christmas tree holding a big cracker we had so many happy times. Holidays and tips he was a wonderful husband and dad. We all have are found memories of him. We are so greatfull he got to see Cheryl wedding video has he was to unwell to attend but was with us in our hearts.
When I met Andy my dad said it would never last with us cheeky grin on his face and was only to happy to get him drunk on the night before our wedding on a litre bottle of whiskey (even thought they both said it was not the whiskey that made them ill but the sip bourbon they drank)
Andy has asked me to say he never knew his father and he said that Geoff was more of a dad to him and he loved him for that even if he did have to keep showing him how to use the remote.
If you would like to leave your own messages please feel free we would love to hear your story's about him or if just words of condolences or even a photo or two.
I would just like to say on behalf of my family and myself how greatful we all our for all your support dad would be so proud
Dad may be far away but you are always in my heart and that is where you'll stay until we meet again dad love your daughter Tracy.
