In loving memory of Alan Seaman who sadly passed away on 4th November 2017.
Alan was born in Sunderland in 1963 to Ann and Alf Seaman who both sadly passed away many years ago. Alan was proud of his North Eastern roots and was a regular follower of Sunderland Football Club.
He married Anne in 1986 and had two daughters, Rebecca and Nicola, who he was very proud of and loved dearly. Alan has two brothers Tony and Colin, and although they may have lived in different parts of the country they kept in regular contact.
Alan was a dedicated police officer for over 30 years and was well respected and liked by his colleagues.
After his retirement, Alan worked for DriveTech as a 'mystery bus inspector' on the bus network. More recently, he worked at Gatwick airport as part of the Border Force team in Immigration. A job he thoroughly enjoyed and brought him back once again to working as part of a team, and another opportunity for colleagues to share in his stories and banter.
We ask you all to share your stories and memories of the time you spent with Alan - whether you are family, a friend or a colleague.

Alan! Alan! Alan! was a friend and colleague for ten years. I worked with him at TDV.
Top cop. Top bloke. Top driver. Top giggle. True gentleman.
But the jokes!! Same everyday for 10 years.
I remember all the little scrapes u got into, crashing the double decker, u swore me to secrecy, the chap that dived out of the police car window after arrest who subsequently bit you. Cautioning people for wearing socks with flip flops and so the stories continue. Alan i am gonna miss you. For the record i am gonna say it one more time

Alan and I worked together on response at Wimbledon in the 1990s . My memories of Alan was he was a fantastic officer , brilliant Area car driver and would always try first to talk a person down but got stuck In if necessary ! You were in safe hands working with him! I saw him briefly about 2 years ago plodding my beat In West Twickenham where he got off a bus to Heathrow I think and told me he was an assessor of the bus driver ! We had a laugh and I said goodbye . So sad he is no longer with us . A good mAn with a great sense of humour and excellent officer and Area car driver ! You were in safe hands working with Alan . Born to be a cop! My heart, prayers and love go to all his family at this time . I am currently off sick with pneumonia and can’t attend the funeral . I will say a prayer and light a candle In his memory . God bless . Vanessa ( Stennett ) 288vw !

Alan was a colleague at Wimbledon on my team in the 1990s . Fantastic area car driver , fair but firm when needed and had me laughing throughout my shift when I worked with him ! A great loss to many . RIP ALAN . your memory will live on and will bring many smiles as we remember you xx

So sorry to hear this very sad news. I remember Alan well from Gilmour House and Streatham in the 80's. My wife Sara (formerly Huelin) knew Alan at Wimbledon and Mitcham and regularly worked with him. We would echo what Dickie Mills said - he was a mischievous character and fun to be with! Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

I was very lucky to work with Alan at Streatham. I knew I could rely on him in any situation, often just saying the right thing to defuse volatility, but having a real caring side to him too. Then there were the majority of times I would be in fits of laughter at his antics. He was very much a family man, very protective and proud of Anne and his girls. Just a lovely guy I will very much miss the chance of seeing again. My thoughts and condolences with Anne, Nicola and Rebecca. RIP Al x
