In loving memory of Carole Farquharson who sadly passed away on 18th November 2017.
Carole was a wonderful wife and mother who always put her family first. She dedicated herself to raising her sons, Stuart and Steven and was immensely proud of everything they achieved.
She always kept in touch with her extended family and never forgot a single birthday. This really highlighted how well organised and family-oriented she was.
House-proud and a true perfectionist at everything she did - whether it was making her own wedding and bridesmaid dresses, instructing people to drive, professionally making curtains of all sizes and styles, cooking and baking - she was good at everything she tried.
It was her love of life and especially the simple things that was particularly admirable, always humble and never excessive. But at a time where she could finally start to put herself first and look forward to enjoying retirement it was particularly cruel that she was afflicted with Multiple Myeloma, an incredibly aggressive form of cancer.
Carole faced cancer the only way she knew how - initially she wouldn’t let it stop her carrying on her life as normal. But unfortunately, due to its aggressive nature she was subject to constant chemotherapy and with that came extreme side effects. It became harder for Carole to conceal it - she constantly felt sick, always had pains and eventually lost her mobility. Tragically Carole’s body could no longer fight it.
During Carole’s fight against cancer she received fantastic treatment and care at the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London and more recently at the University Hospital in Southampton.
If you are thinking of bringing flowers along to the funeral Carole would have preferred that you instead donate the money to either Macmillan Cancer Support or Myeloma UK. To donate please use the buttons at the top of this page.
