In loving memory of Gemma Louise Tabrett who sadly passed away on 17th November 2017
The eldest of three children
In her sadly short life, Gemma lived it to the full.
Three precious children,my grandchildren, Courtney,Harley Brayden Tabrett Duggan. A brilliant Mum,always her children first.
If you knew Gemma you should feel privileged to have done so and i'm sure many do,she cherished her friends.
Everybody certainly knew that they had just met " Our Gem" lol.
Happy go lucky, Eriths very own one man vigilante always one to respect her older generation and say when she saw something wrong.
She worked from an early age on Erith market, mornings, nights, weekends first with Jamie, then with Khan, which is where a lot of people remember her, gift of the gab!!
Then Saturdays and after leaving school worked in Woolworths, making many more friends again.
Always on the go.
After a short while she chose to start her family, living at Compton place at this time, then moving to Larner road and then on to Welling. Life was all roses for Gem .
The dark skies came over....
The most devastating news of her Cancer diagnosis came late June, early July this year after being admitted to hospital with supposedly an extreme stomach upset after many tests was told it was Cancer and she needed major surgery.this surgery was done and then it was wide spread and they needed her to start chemo asap.
The initial shock gave way to a fiery determination...Gem stayed cheerful ,stayed determined and also tried to help a family friend cope with their cancer also,a dear friend that also so sadly passed just before Gem , making plans to do Race For Life together. Gemma breezed in and out of chemo like the sun on a cloudy day, people were gobsmacked to how she was coping and carried on.She had her 6th chemo....then the results of MRI such a blow..nothing had changed in fact it was worse, her determination began to waive..feeling really drained from the brutal chemo she questioned if she could carry on ,if it was ever going to work, family, friends everybody tried to give her that encouragement. She picked herself up,dusted herself down and went for it...unfortunately the new chemo couldn't go ahead her blood tests showed problems, this just kept being the case, didn't even get the chance to give another go.
Her body wasn't giving her the opportunity, in her mind she was strong still continued to push through.
After spending a few weeks very ill Gemma was admitted to hospital.
That's as far as i can take this ...the rest is just too painful
She passed at 19.19 on Friday 17th November with her family all present .
We have lost "Our Gem" but she will never ever be forgotten, always part of so many lives.
Rest peacefully my baby girl not apart always together.
xxxxxxx
