Michael Ryan, devoted father to Claire, Alan & Terry, grandfather to Jamie, Lucy, Joe, Danny, Ben, Ellie & Sam and husband to beloved wife Ellen has passed away at the age of 78. Michael was born in co. Limerick, Ireland and grew up in co. Clare with his Brother Patrick and sisters Maureen & Kathleen and like many young people in Ireland at the time moved to London where he lived and worked all his life. A proud member of the Labour party and heavily involved with the Communications Workers Union Mike spent his spare time enjoying both watching and participating in sport where he ran a series of local darts teams, football teams and followed his local club Crystal Palace FC through thick and thin, accepting the latter more frequently than the former! He also loved to socialise and made many friends throughout England and Ireland and as a proud Irish man who embraced London and England as his home he made sure the “craic” was mighty whatever the occasion. He will be sadly missed by all.
Instead of sending flowers the family would prefer a donation in memory of Michael to the Stroke Association. Go to the website stroke.org.uk
