On the 26th October 2017, we said goodbye to Geoff Donovan who passed away peacefully at St Christopher's hospice with his loved ones around him.
Geoff was the loving Husband to Kath, perfect Father to Sam and Scott, best Father-in-Law to Cheryl, along with being the proud Grandad to Elle, Alessi and Ruby-Mae. He was the special brother to Kath, Brenda, Mo, Larry, Ralph, Mark and Frank. Along with being an extremely popular Uncle, friend and member of the Addiscombe Social & Sports Club for many years!
After spending the last 15 years battling various health issues, Geoff was never the one to complain and right to the end of his life on that Thursday, he would always remind us that there was someone else out there in a worse position. A truly inspirational man that we could and still can learn from in any of our darkest times.
Dad spent his remaining 20 days at St Christopher's Hospice, where he felt safe and comfortable surrounded by the genuine care he got by all the staff at the hospice. Mum called them all 'Dad's little angels', due to the genuine care that he and his family received during this period.
We felt as a family that it would be appropriate to give back to St Christopher's something so they can continue to help and support many more families like ourselves, during their difficult times.
There will be only flowers from the immediate family on the day of his farewell, however if you would like to make a donation in Dads honour to the wonderful team at St Christopher's Hospice then please do so by donating on the fundraising section.
We hope to raise enough to enable us to honour his passing by getting a leaf engraved in his memory on their ever growing tree.
As a family, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the love and support that we have received.
Love,
Kath, Sam and Scott xxx
