Hello to all my family in England and France and especially to Sylvia's children. I just want to say how much I will miss Sylvia. Living in Canada means that we did not see each other very often and also, both having busy lives, didn't talk or email very often either. Nevertheless, Sylvia has a special place in my heart. Mainly for her kindness and generosity. When Victor died, Sylvia and the children came to spend a couple of weeks with us and although it was a very sad time, being together for a while was for me a warm and comforting experience. Even though we didn't have a lot of time together, I knew I could always call or visit when able. Also, when in financial difficulties one time, Sylvia helped out without being asked, with no strings attached. I did pay Sylvia back many years later when I was able to, but will not forget her caring nature. Sylvia had a personality that was upbeat, despite her many bouts with ill health and difficulties that we all encounter in our life journey. She had a resilience to bounce back. I will miss her very much but faith assures me that our spirit lives on, even if it is in the lives of those we leave behind. That is the legacy that is most important to me. I am not able to attend the funeral but my prayers will be with you on Monday.
