In loving memory of Philip Whittaker who sadly passed away on 16th October 2017.
Born to Fred and Doris, Philip lived in Cambridgeshire for most of his life. He had one brother, Bill (William), who died at an early age.
Philip went to the local school in Holme village and left at the age of 14 to work alongside his father. He then worked with Jack Everitt as an apprentice for 7 years who became a close friend and Domino partner for many years playing for both the Talbot and Cheese in Stilton. Philip was a carpenter and joiner and worked in the building trade for most of his working life.
Whilst on a holiday with friends in Scarbrough, he met Joan who he later married. They were married for 63 years.
Philip and Joan moved into their first home, which Philip had built, in Caldecote Cambridgeshire and raised five children, Pamela (Bill Richardson), John (Barbara), Kevin (Carol), Elizabeth and Rosemarie (Mark Day). Philip was grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Retired in 1989 Philip and Joan spent much of their time traveling globally, spending a great deal of this time in the USA and Australia in the company of family and friends.
He and Joan spent most of their married life building, buying, renovating and restoring houses in Caldecote, Stilton and Yaxley.
