Yogendra Patel (30 May 1934 - 10 Oct 2017)
Yogendra Hiralal Patel, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 10th October, 2017 at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. He was born on 30th, May 1934 in Nadiad, India to Hiralal and Chanchalben Patel. He grew up in Surat, and at the age of 20, married Avanitka Chimanbhai Patel. He worked as a bank clerk in Standard bank until 1970 when he emigrated to the United Kingdom. Yogendra worked for Barclays Bank in the U.K. and also played as for their cricket team until he retired in 1994. He was an avid cricket fan. Yogendra enjoyed watching cricket matches on T.V., cracking jokes with friends and family, and working on his computer and Ipad. He is survived by his wife, Avanitka, 3 children, Bharatbhushan (Bhamini), Shilpa (Vipul), Paresh (Marianne); 7 grandchildren, Jeenal (Tarush), Vishal, Sukhi, Tashan, Sonam, Anusha, Etienne; and great granddaughter, Maya. His Funeral will take place at the Croydon Crematorium, East Chapel Mitcham Road, Croydon CR9 3AT on 17th, October, 2017 at 11:15 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Children's home in Coimbatore, India. No reception to take place after the funeral.
