In loving memory of Cynthia Joan Harris who sadly passed away on 30th September 2017 aged 76 years. Born in Plymouth to George and Mable Bunt on February 11th, 1941. She graduated from Plymouth School for girls and entered the workforce. She had a love of dancing and soon met Raymond Harris. They were soon engaged and married on December 24th, 1960.

Cynthia had 4 children, the eldest Fiona, then Stephen, Philip and Kirsty. She had 6 grand children, Andrew, Ray, Hazel, Katy, Elena and Peter and 5 great grand children: Ajay, Tommy, Amelia, Alfie and Riley. Her family was a great source of pride and she loved to spend time with each of them.

Cynthia and Ray moved across the country as Ray's profession led them to Bodmin, Doncaster, Walsall, Burton-on-Trent, Hull and Nottingham. In 1980 they purchased the Welbeck Newsbar in Hucknall and became newsagents. After a period of ill health, Ray passed away in 2000. They had been married for almost 40 years. Cynthia continued to manage the store.

Cynthia had many interests. She was an active member of the church and the community participating in all kinds of events for charity. She loved to play games, especially scrabble. She won more games than she lost using words many of us never knew existed.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her extended family. Holidays abroad or simply an afternoon at the park with the great grand kids, she loved those times.

Cynthia's spirit and values will live on in each of those she touched. She will be sorely missed.

Words can’t describe the devastation within , I will miss you so much . You are the most amazing person I know ,full of kindness , love and without you I certainly wouldn’t be who I am now . Thankyou for everything you’ve done and allowing me to be so close to you ,we’ve had many laughs and adventures and that is one thing that is helping get me through this but at the same time it hurts knowing they won’t continue . I genuenly can’t write how i feel about you as words can’t describe the love and happiness you brought me .I miss our 7 mile Sunday walks , the autograss days ,the church days , I wish we could play scrabble and watch casualty , I wish we could just go to titchfield park or take a random drive and try and get lost or even just make our daily call . I would do anything to get you back and go on but you’ve gone to heaven and I hope your up there with your amazing smile and trying to get people dancing to the birdie song . Love you and good night xxx
