A memorial service will be held at 10am in St. Mary Immaculate Church, Pollokshaws, Glasgow. The burial will take place at Phillipshill Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Ivory Hotel, Shawlands.
Tony was born to William and Helen McGuiness on 7th July 1961 in Glasgow, Scotland. He had two brothers, Paul and William. The family were raised in the Cranhill area of Glasgow. Tony attended St. Modan's Primary School during his early years of education before moving to St. Gregory's Secondary School.
Tony married Hazel on 29th July 1985. Together, they had three children, Tony, Steven and Kirsty.
Tony and Hazel held "traditional" values when raising the family with Tony as the breadwinner and Hazel predominantly at home to raise the children. Tony started his working life at Henry Healy's grocer where he held the position as shop manager before moving to pastures new as an insurance salesman. He persevered for a few years and had a drastic change of career by becoming a scaffolder. He had finally found his calling, soon making his way up the ladder to an office based supervisory role where he remained until his passing.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen McGuiness and Grandson Lewis. He is survived by his wife Hazel, children Tony, Steven and Kirsty, Grandchildren Ross, Sophie, Mark, Daniel and Megan and finally his Brothers, William and Paul.
Hazel and children extend a warm welcome to family and friends on Wednesday 18th October to celebrate Tony's life and give him the send off he deserves.
