'Dad', the most gentle man, with the warmest heart. Your smile will be a treasured memory along with our 'man chats' (away from the girls!). You were an exceptional soul. Rest easy now, Dad. Love always, Nath ('Son') xxxx

"There are persons so radiant, so genial, so kind, so pleasure-bearing, that you instinctively feel, in their presence that they do you good, that their coming into a room is like bringing a lamp there." (Henry Ward Beecher 1813-1887)
These words, written in a book given to me by my dear friend, Frances, could have been written about Lawrence. He was such a good man, a family man, a brave man, and for us, a good friend. We will always remember his smile and it will be his smile that will light our memories of a much loved, much missed, gentle man.

I really got to know my dear friend when he came across to work on our team. We hit it off straight away and had so much in common. A great sense of humour and an emense love for our family. The time we had together were mainly at work but they were special and kept us laughing throughout.

Laurence we made a good team and shared similar lives

He was a true friend, always there to listen and highly respected by work colleagues. The memories we shared will last forever and the jobs we worked on will be remembered and kept alive by colleagues who had the privilege to work with him. Until we meet again, your true friend Dave.

Lawrence was a true gentleman
A gentle man
A good man
A huggable gentle giant
He worked all his life in the service of others
After fires and accidents he dealt with unimaginable scenarios and stoically dealt with the stress that involved
Lawrence was a kind generous patient giving and forgiving man
His loss to us all is huge
His loss to Frances Kate Jonathon Hazel Rowan and Logan is unimaginable

I have so many happy memories spent growing up at the Skinner’s, it was like my second home! Lawrence was such a gentle, kind and caring man and always made me feel very welcome. My heart goes out to my best friend Kat who has lost her wonderful Dad and to both Francis and Logan too. I know he will be greatly missed, but at least he’s now at peace and will be looking down on you all and guiding you wherever you go.
Lots of love to you all
