Having acquired a copy of your book today, the day after Candlemas, and looking you up only to discover you've died, it just feels right to light a candle in your memory seven years later, not least for your service in compiling the stories of St Margaret's Church and Lower Halstow!
My wife's brother lived, worshipped, was bell-ringer and sidesman there and local teacher for many joyful years with his family while you were alive.
May eternal light shine upon you, and my thanks today for your having walked and kindly helped light this path earlier.

I'm sad to hear that Pauline passed away, and send my condolences to Les, sons, and families.
I enjoyed working together with Pauline at Lower Halstow School 1991-92, and I have many happy memories of Pauline and family. May God bless and comfort your family. Love from Karin Hansen (miss Rasmussen)

All the years I have known Pauline, from the first years as her collegue to later having the privilege of becoming a friend, I have had a great admiration for her intellect, her keen eye for gardening and flower arranging, her historic interest, musicality, and her tenacity. Throughout her life, she has touched many lives - through her teaching, playing the organ in church, editing the local newsletter and being the custodian of the local history, which she channelled into a published book. Although originally from Newington, which she kept in touch with through the Newington Concert Part, she became a great asset to the village of Lower Halstow and long may the memory of her last.
I will miss our conversations, our joint interest in photography and making funny stories about two silly bears (Troll and Paddington)
