Stuart will be missed by so many people and the world benefitted so much from Stuart's prescence in it. He was a decent and lovely man and it was great to have known him and worked alongside him in the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign over the last four years. His commitment and energy were incredible and inspiring and he worked so hard to save Lewisham Hospital. The success of the campaign owes so much to Stuart. A life well lived. My thoughts are with Charlotte, Anna , family, friends and comrades. Rest in peace Stuart

Stuart was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. His work at Wanstead Park made such a difference to the local community, and his enthusiasm was boundless. I hope the corporation of London will consider erecting a bench in the Park in Stuart's memory - in recognition of his unceasing support for its continued preservation

  • Thank you Greg, I did speak with Paul Thompson, Epping Forest superintendent for Corporation who came to Stuart's funeral, and asked about that possibility He said they are establishing a policy now that will enable such benches. So worth pursuing for sure.

It is with great sadness that I write of the loss of one of the most loved and valued members of the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign.
Stuart was a member of our steering committee since the start and was an inspirational chronicler and promoter of the campaign through his wonderful films. He was full of energy and creativity and his films were central to the success of our campaign.
Above all Stuart was a dear friend and will be sadly missed. Our love and deepest condolences to his partner Charlotte and their daughter Anna.

Knew Stuart 60 years. He was always fun, challenging, passionate and mischevious. Hard to accept that he's gone but grateful to have had him as afriend.

Our late Brother James was very close to you. You produced some excellent films of many of the projects which were important to him and on a personal note we recall your highly professional video of the sad occasion of our late Mother's funeral in Somerset.
For all of that and for being such a warm and friendly person - thank you very much.

It has been a privilege to have Stuart's friendship.
At the Freshers play we first met in 60 years ago he was full of passion and kindness and mischief.
So he still was last time we met in August. He'll be greatly missed
