June Evelyn Parkinson’s UK
In loving memory of June Evelyn Smith who sadly passed away on 10th August 2017, aged 83 years.
June was born in Birmingham, the family moved to Rugby. Many will remember June from her work at The Co-op Drapery Department in Regent Street, Rugby. Where aged 17, she met a handsome postman who was delivering the mail and the rest as they say, is history ! June also worked at the Paddox School as a cleaner and at Fareham Youth Club as a cleaner and Whitehall Medical Practice (when in Dunsmore Ave) as a cleaner. Some of you will remember her as your Avon Lady (part of Percival Rd) In 2001, June was diagnosed with Parkinson`s Disease and our lives changed. June lost most of her mobility in 2012. On June the 20th 2017, we could not wake her up that morning, June was taken to hospital and after 3 weeks, they told us she cannot cone home as she had lost the use of her legs and that we would not be able to cope at home. June went into The Warwickshire Nursing Home on 14th July. A few days later she was back in hospital as the home found her frothing at the mouth during a bed check. A few days later June was back at the Nursing home where she remained until 10th August 2017. During the midnight bed check, June was fine, during the 1am bed check it was found that June has passed away. There was nothing they could do. Of course the Coroner was involved and after a few weeks made his decision that June had suffered a SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST. We are laying June to rest on 20th September 2017 at 1pm at St Marie`s Church. Rest in Peace June Evelyn Smith, nee Stewardson.
