In loving memory of Rita Ann Butler who sadly passed away on 12th August 2017.
Mum loved life, she was a very jovial character who loved to make people laugh.
Mum loved to do things to make people happy,
She had a huge heart that loved to give to those in need.
Mum travelled the world. She especially travelled to Kenya, Africa, to feed a whole village in need.
She would always be there if someone needed a helping hand, or needed to be cared for.
She loved to cook her Jamaican food and invite the whole neighborhood over to eat.
Mum was voted citizen of the year for cooking for, and feeding the elderly that could not take care of themselves.
Mum won First Female driver of the year in the 1960's
Mum was voted Miss Nottingham in 1955 at the Palais De Danse
She LOVED to dance to her Reggae. She was the life and soul of any party.
She was very spiritual and always held Yahwee (God) in her heart.
She had a lot of love in her heart. She would give her last penny for someone in need.
At times she was a handful. Some times, I thought I was the Mother, reprimanding the child.
She was a bugger (a good one) and I will miss her. We spoke every single morning throughout the years.
Her last words to me were "I love You" she then said "when i take my final breath, I will say to you, I Love You".
I will miss my Mum. We spoke every day for over 20 years. I will miss our calls. Mum was a hand full at times, and we did not always see eye to eye, but she was my Mother and I always loved her, as did she me. Mum and I had a VERY VERY SPECIAL relationship. Rest in Peace Mum. I have you in my heart forever xxx I LOVE YOU xxx

We did not have the honor and privilege of knowing Rita, but we know her wonderful daughter Rebecca. By knowing Rebecca, we have a glimpse of what wonderful person Rita was. Or prayers for comfort and peace to Rebecca and Eric.

I met Rita when she was in Stoke House Residential home back in September 2015. I was asked by Lorraine to start physiotherapy sessions with her following her stroke.
She was such a character and I looked forward to our regular chats each week. She had obviously led a colourful full life, albeit a little mischevious at times, and she dearly loved her daughter.
Rest in peace xxx

I first met Rita when I moved into Walton Court in 2001. She was certainly a larger than life character.
I am into Palmistry and Rita had a double life line...The person with a double Life Line or with an overlap has a specific psychological desire for exploration and some form of change. They will feel a need to branch out, explore and see a new side of life. There is a need to experience something different from their upbringing and this always manifests as a relative sense of curiosity and adventure.
At times I had a stormy relationship/friendship with Rita but we always settled our differences eventually.
She was a big part of my life for 16 years and I miss her.
I often hire new cars and Rita with her neighbour, elderly Brenda, loved the trips out we had.
She did not suffer fools gladly and was very vocal in her criticism of some of the tenants here at the court.
I lit 2 candles, one is for Paul Moody here at the court who often joined me when we visited Rita in the nursing home and she loved Paul.
On the day that Rita passed away a beautiful white dove settled in front of me across the road at our shops, we see plenty of pigeons round here but never white doves.
Rita has gone but will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace Rita, you were much loved by the people who matter <3

Always There
When you remember me
Please do not weep
My body may not be there
It has chosen to sleep
I'm not that far away
My soul lives on
Looking down, watching over
You and everyone
And when you feel sad
And life seems so blue
Just remember
That my spirit has its arms around you
And on those special days,
Times that you wish I could see,
That cool breeze flowing past you...
Well, that will be me
So don't be sad
Have no fear
God has taken me under his wing
But I'll always be near
I still watch you
Every minute, every day
My love and soul are with you
And that's where they will stay.
