AlisonMotor Neurone Disease Association
In loving memory of Alison Padley who sadly passed away on 10th August 2017.
Alison was born in Lanark, Scotland, grew up in North Wales, studied in Oxford and moved around England before settling in Shrivenham to bring up her family. She was a big sister, a wife, a mother to 4 children and grandmother to 3 more. Her professional career spanned many years and saw her teach many students and teachers to encourage the next generation of scientists.
The last few years of her life were a struggle against motor neurone disease. It is a disease capable of slowly taking away all independence within the space of merely a few months and for someone as strikingly independent as Alison, this was a hard burden to bear. But she fought admirably against it and despite everything, was still laughing about the irony of things even towards the end.
There is little help for people in the UK with MND and in the hope of trying to give something to help others with this disease, we have set up this fundraising page. If you have a few pennies to spare then any amount would be greatly appreciated to try and make a difference.
