In loving memory of Margaret Selby Gomme who sadly passed away on 4th August 2017
Margaret leaves daughters Carol, Deborah and Frances and their families, and also her devoted husband of the last 3 years, Tony Booth.
Margaret was born and grew up in Watford. She married Keith in October 1963 and moved to Gloucestershire, then to Aylesbury, then to Essex, then to Somerset and then to the Midlands; each move being linked to Keith's work. Where opportunities arose and it fitted in with the family, Margaret worked in various schools and labs as a laboratory technician.
Many people will remember Margaret for her Guiding work in Somerset and in Worcestershire, or for her great crafting skills. She could turn her hand to sewing (curtain making, dress making, quilting), cake making and sugarcraft, tatting, macrame, painting, quilling, card-making, lace making... She must have made most of the curtains hanging in Clent!
Having lost Keith suddenly 15 years ago, Margaret had lived with daughter Deborah in Napton and then for the past 10 years at the Richmond Bede retirement village in Bedworth in Warwickshire, where she was much loved amongst the staff for her dry sense of humour. She was a founding member of the Ladies Circle in the village. Margaret found love again at Bede Village and married Tony in August just 3 years ago.
Margaret had battled Multiple Sclerosis stoically for more than 30 years, and a collection for the MS Society will be taken in her name.
